I See You

In the past, many fashion risk takers who have dared to don see-through clothing have been penalized to some version of a  "Would You be Caught Dead In This" list of fashion mishaps.  But lately, with so many cute lingerie lines out there, such as my favorite, SKIVVIES by For Love & Lemons, it's almost a damn shame to not let your pretty underthings show!!  This lovely see through lace dress is not only girly and feminine, but it's the perfect piece to showcase your sexy skivvies, which, let's face it, are a fashion statement on their own!

This trend of see through lace/ sheer dresses and tops is one that I'm feeling, if done in a tasteful way. Some pieces I've seen are downright gorgeous if you ask me. (Did y'all catch the Beyonces and J Lo's at the MET Gala this year??)  Just stunning.  What do you guys think? Would you dare to go see through?

Summer Vacation Staple: The Romper

I've always been a fan of the maxi dress.  Slip one on and add a few accessories, and it's the quickest most effortless way to look put together.  I'm loving summer's version of the maxi dress, the romper.  Rompers are great because they are a quick throw on one piece, much like the maxi dress, but much shorter for the sunny weather, and are "shorts" versus a dress, for a more casual, on the go outfit.  I love the ones that are low in the front and are pretty much backless, like the one I'm wearing here, because they almost have a one-piece bathing suit (which are making a comeback in a strong way) vibe to them.  It's perfect to wear to lunch on vacation straight to an impromptu lay out at the pool!  Speaking of vacation...you guys have any plans coming up for Memorial Weekend? Make sure to pack a romper on that vaycay!

Tribal Playset

One trend I'm loving this spring/ summer is the matching playset.  They're fun to wear together as a matching set, or wear separately to create many looks. Some of the fun ones I've seen have a cropped top and a high waist short, giving it a flirty summer vibe.  This one is by one of my favorite brands, Free People.  The side lacing detail and fun tribal print makes it perfect for vacation! What do you guys think???

Desert Bound

I have a confession...so I had no real plans of going to Coachella last week.  None at all actually.  I hadn't shopped for Coachella and I didn't have my usual nail art...nothing.  That may as well have been the best way to manifest me going, because in the very last minute, my girlfriend invited me to go with a great group and there I was, scrambling to pack on Thursday night to go last minute on Friday!!!  Thankfully I dress Boho-chic on the normal, so I had this outfit ready to go for my Saturday Coachella look (which in my opinion was the best day music-wise.  Don't miss Milky Chance or Jack White, please!)

If you are going this weekend, some good things you may want to bring to Coachella are:

1.) A cute backpack. This is a necessity to carry all the things you will need. It's a lifesaver when all you want to do is dance and can't be bothered with a shoulder bag. :)  Plus, you are going to need those hands of yours for holding hands with your group as you walk along the crowds, careful not to lose them. :)

2.) Speaking of not losing your group, a battery pack will help that tremendously from happening.  Reception is bad and the days in field are long.  Bring a battery pack.  You will thank me for this!  Yes there are charging stations but they are few and far in between.  A girl from our group got lost last week and her battery died.  It's not fun losing your group and trying frantically to find them while you have a dead cell phone.  Talk about Mission Impossible!

3.) A change of clothes in that nifty ole backpack of yours! Something like a sweater and some kind of pants and flat shoes will transition you from your nice warm day look to when it gets cooler at night and your feet are over it!

4.) Gum, mints, sunblock, lotion wipes, tons of arm bracelets!! Travel size toilet paper wipes are handy for the not so nice porta- potties.

5.) Water.  Make sure you drink lots of water.  The desert is hot and it's important to hydrate!

Perhaps the most important thing to bring to Coachella is: GOOD VIBES!!! There will be massive amounts of people, it is overcrowded and there WILL be some pushing to get to the front.  Just remember to bring that good attitude of yours!!! Don't forget, we are all there to enjoy the music so let's all be courteous to one another and just enjoy the music and rock out!!!

For Love of Two Piece Dresses

I was born Catholic but am I by no means religious.  I consider myself to be more spiritual than associate myself to any particular religion. I don't go to church but I believe I have my own personal relationship with God.  Easter wasn't that hugely celebrated in my (immediate) family but Christmas always was.  So when Easter rolled around and I was invited to celebrate with a great bunch of my friends and people I love, I thought, why not? Love, in the end will always be my religion.

Scored this beautiful skirt and top set at the super crazy For Love and Lemons sample sale recently.  Stood in line for hours but it was worth it!

Springtime, Spring Cleaning

It's springtime, folks! Time for spring cleaning, decluttering and for making room for the new! Personally this spring I am going to give my closet a major overhaul and will be purging so many items! I have four closets that are full and I need to better organize them! So, watch out for my Poshmark account (@clothescontrol) for some of my cast-offs if y'all are interested! :)

As with every spring season, florals ARE always a trend. ALWAYS.  So I tend to keep all my floral pieces with anticipation of wearing them every spring!  This particular dress is actually new and was gifted to me on my birthday! ( Thanks, J! ;)  It's Kimchi Blue from Urban Outfitters.  It's perfect to wear on a warm spring day or to wear with a tan leather jacket for a more put together look like I did here! :)  Leather jackets are another thing I plan on not ever getting rid of! They are such staples in my wardrobe! :)

What will you be spring cleaning from your closet??
